Splitting Files
normaly you do not save your aliases to your .muttrc but load them like this:
set alias_file=PATH_TO_ALIAS_FILE source PATH_TO_ALIAS_FILE
my .muttrc lines looks like this for my alias file:
set alias_file=~/mutt.varios/.muttrc.aliases # where I keep my aliases source ~/mutt.varios/.muttrc.aliases
at another specific place I load other files like my hooks:
source ~/mutt.varios/.muttrc.hooks
to have proper syntax highlighting with vim I called all of these files .muttrc.*
Signature
send hook for all msgs look the same
send-hook REG_EXP \ "set signature=PATH_TO_SIGNATURE"
you can also change your header with a send hook, for all msgs:
send-hook . \ "my_hdr From: John Doe <john@doe\.org> ;\ set signature=~/mailsignatures/.signature_std"
Colour
original code I use
